Before we skip to get to the good stuff currently in progress, I'm still taking in so many good things that happened in Q4 2024 and Q1 of this year. *exhales*
It’s been far too long my friends! Let's rewind.

CATCHING UP
There was no Q4 blog posted and for a legitimate reason. Let's recap. My most recent home project that I shared in the One Room Challenge (dressing room shown above) made it to about 80% completion. A full reveal of the space will be shared this year. We onboarded our largest commercial project to date with Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church to renovate & design something new and special…a multi-functional event space that includes a private bathroom. What else?!
So I made my first appearance on our local ABC news with footage shared of my giving back in the Philadelphia community by donating turkeys to several families. Looking back, the year’s end seems like a blur. Saying “Yes" to Kips Bay Show House; the most prestigious show house industry wide. It’s one of few things I would skip holiday break for! Well worthwhile. Photos from the pro shoot are shared below, and more views are on the Instagram feed.
WHAT'S NEW
This month's end is approaching soon, so I am pausing to share a few additional highlights from Q1. We've added a new team member; Chelsea Sawyer, Interior Design Assistant. She’s a past mentee, and I am so proud to have her on the team. Stop by the “About” page on our website to place the name with a face.
In other first quarter news: House of Clark Interiors has been awarded the best designer and having a quality business in Norristown; a township next to our office HQ in Blue Bell. Although Philadelphia and its surrounding counties remain as our focal areas, I’m excited to share that we ended March welcoming our first Florida project; a new build condo that’s a second home for our client located in Lakeside (just 15min from the West Palm airport). With this said, it's no better time to share that we're adding reach.
—We have fully expanded our team network to offer full scale design throughout a few states. In addition to states we’ve served in the past (DE, NJ, MD, NY), we’re now serving ATL GA, FL, and VA. Opening our design services for more global availability is just the start of some advancing & growth happening at House of Clark Co.
Looking ahead, the rest of April will be busy in design with getting two of our current projects into construction phase and more travel. Our next trip planned is High Point NC for spring market. Designer plug: If you'll be attending HPMKT, I'm hosting a Hot Spot Tour. The designer line up and schedules are on the website. We look forward to attending, as it’s the largest furniture market taking up over a million square feet in show room real estate. Getting to source what’s new and next for our clients, sit in on educational panels, and good networking opportunities are a few key benefits of attending. NYC is calling for a trip before the quarter ends for something truly special that will be shared next month. Behind the scenes (BTS)??
HOW IT'S GOING BTS
There’s always something amazing brewing behind the scenes. I have been working on my first book to be a fun, but helpful tool for newer designers. House of Clark is loading on YouTube, and I’ll be redefining & prepping a few home spaces to share in a home tour on a major public platform later this year.
In Speaker News: More speaking engagements are in the works, starting with an invite received to speak at Girls High; an all girls high school in Philadelphia. It is an honor to be back in another school this year. I’ll be educating a group of students about the interior design and real estate industries early in May. This is a part of an initiative with the public school district that includes a few other black woman owned businesses participating from various industries. Last year around this time I spoke at a local elementary school for a career day.
To stay in the know real time be sure to follow us on Instagram and subscribe to HOC’s virtual community if you haven’t already to receive exclusive shares & more. (I’m also on LinkedIn.)
In closing, my full rebrand started last year is very much a working progress. Our previous online boutique has been renamed as ‘House of Clark Home’ with a curated list of products in the works for the shop relaunch. And— this blog could not be left out. So, welcome to The House of Clark Edit formerly called ‘the blog’. The content additions will include a mix of special posts, likely to be sent out in between the quarterly volumes, and a new press section you’ll find at the end of each HOC Edit.

Knowing most of my time is dedicated to design work for our client projects, it sounds insane to my own ears having just typed so many things requiring so much of me to be poured into. Some health reminders just came to mind, and I’m led to share my thoughts here for whoever else needs to hear: Now more than ever it’s vital to operate with the mindset of "slow and steady". We can’t efficiently pour from an empty cup, so a good amount of unplugging & recharging is a must to pour back into ourselves. Trust that the hard work will always pay off if we faint not!
PRESS LATELY
A new section we're adding to The House of Clark Edit, Press Lately. Although a good amount of press features are shared on socials and on our press page. See the latest below.
